The Most Wonderful Time of Year

Hello friends! I know its been awhile since I posted but I have been so busy with school and life. I just finished up my first semester of senior year:( Wow, that went by fast. I can’t believe I only have one more semester until I’m done with undergrad. I know I need to catch up with my posts so today I wanted to share some of my favourite traditions for this time of year!

Every year near Thanksgiving time, a casino near me has a display of life size gingerbread houses, They are 100% edible and take the entire years worth of preparation. The village consists of more than 700 pounds of gingerbread dough, 2,045 pounds of icing and more than 750 pounds of candy. That’s a lot of icing!

This one is my favourite, All of the details make it so life-like. I also like the how it is looked like it is suppose to be a brick house, my favourite!

Cookies, Cookies, Cookies

Tis the season for cookies. My absolute favourite dessert! Here are some of the ones my family makes every year:

Peanut butter blossoms are a great combination of peanut butter, chocolate, and cookie. What not to love! You can put any topping on top of them, some of my favourites are: Hershey Kiss, Reese Peanut Butter Cup, M&M and Kit Kat. Let me know what yours is! You can find the recipe here!

Peanut butter balls, also known as Buckeyes, are a yummy, peanut buttery ball full of goodness. The peanut butter chocolate combo is great! Here is my favourite recipe!

The Christmas Chocolate Pretzels are my family’s favourite! My mom always makes extra of these because they are guaranteed to be gone as soon as they are put out. Try the recipe here!

My family makes Armenian Simit Cookies for almost every holiday! Being from an Armenian family, my grandparents try to make many of the traditional Armenian foods that their parents used to make. You can make them with sesame seeds or sometimes I add sprinkles for the holidays. I love these cookies as they are the perfect combination of sugar cookie and biscuit. They are perfect to go along with your tea or coffee!

Every Christmas, my family gets a real Christmas tree. We would all go together to cut it down and make a day out of it. We typically go the day after Thanksgiving and spend the whole day decorating it and the house. It is one of my favourite days of the year!

My friend got this card for me for Christmas last year and I absolutely love it! Melsy’s Illustrations does beautiful illustrations of classy women in everyday life. You can customise the hair and skin color of the picture to make it unique. They are the perfect gift for a friend, sister, or mom!

Here is a photo from last Christmas Eve. My outfit is all from J Crew, of course. You can find my shirtnecklace, and skirt(this isn’t the exact one, but here is a similar style). Still not sure what I will be wearing this year, so stay tuned!

Merry Christmas Friends!

Cheers xoxo
