Happy New Year!!! I can’t believe it’s already 2019, it feels like I just graduated high school yesterday! 2019 will be full of a lot of changes for me. I will graduate with my bachelors degree and begin my Masters in Occupational Therapy. I will also move to a different location and be buying my first apartment! Lots of exciting things in store for the new year!
I wanted to share some of my main goals for the upcoming year:
1) Try new things This has been a goal that I am constantly working on every year. The past 4 years I have tried many new things and I am so proud of myself for that! I want to continue with this goal and go even further. Here is a great article from Wanderlust that inspired me to move outside my comfort zone!
2) Eat more veggies I’ll be honest now, I was never the biggest vegetable fan ever. So my goal for the new year is to try really hard to get at least one vegetable with every meal. I have always been a picky eater so trying new foods was never my thing. But I am determined to try some new vegetables even if it is covered in butter.
3) Use my phone less With the new Screen Time feature on the Iphones, it has made me realise how much time I am spending on my phone when I could be doing other things. My goal for this year is to use my phone, social media, and computer less. The world has become so revolved around technology, it is consuming people. Instead of playing on my phone before I fall asleep at night, I will read for 20-30 minutes instead.
4) Self-care Over the past year I have discovered the importance of taking care and time for yourself. Taking time in the day to recharge and relax is something I need in order to function. Some of my favourite ways are diffusing essential oils, using my salt lamp, doing a facial, spending some time in the studio and watching some Sex and the City.
